Now two engine modifications for Hyundai EX8 (Mighty)
Hyundai EX8 (Mighty) is currently available on the Ukrainian market in two versions:
- with a D4GA17 engine (torque 608 N × m, power 170 hp, working volume of the engine 3.9 l), with a mechanical 5-speed gearbox (T060S5);
- a new modification of the Mighty EX8 with a D4CC engine (torque 392 N × m - , power 160 hp with a working volume of the engine 2.9 l), with a mechanical 5-speed gearbox (M035S5).
Advantages of Hyundai EX8:
- compared to the HD78, the EX8 cabin has 68 mm more leg room, 55 mm seat adjustment, and 76 and 65 mm steering wheel adjustment;
- storage space increased by 45% - from 29.8 to 43.4 liters;
- thanks to the improved design of the clutch, the double rubber sealing of the doors and the improved engine mounting system, the level of noise and vibration has become one of the lowest among cars of all manufacturers presented in this segment;
- the cooling and heating parameters of the air conditioning system are also among the best among trucks of this class.
A high level of safety is facilitated by doors with side protection, a driver's airbag and increased efficiency of the braking system: the braking distance of the EX8 is reduced by 6% compared to market counterparts. To increase corrosion resistance, 79% of cabin parts are galvanized. The warranty on the EX8 is 5 years or 200,000 km.
Cars are equipped with active safety systems, such as hill start assist and emergency braking systems, anti-rollover system, electronic brake force distribution, traction force control system, electronic stability control, anti-lock braking system, activation of an emergency signal in case of an emergency stop.
In the maximum configuration, an informative dashboard with an on-board computer, electrically adjustable and heated side mirrors, cruise control, an audio system, air conditioning, an immobilizer, a digital tachograph, a multi-steering wheel, a power take-off box, and a heated driver's seat are available.
The EX8 (Mighty) model with a D4CC engine is presented in Ukraine with a wheelbase of 4,200 mm and a carrying capacity of 4.7-4.9 tons.
Although the technical characteristics of the two engines differ, the fuel consumption and traction-speed parameters of the cars do not differ significantly. Fuel consumption per 100 km. mileage is 13-17 liters, depending on the operating conditions of the car (highway or city). The lower torque of the D4CC engine is compensated by the higher final drive ratio and engine speed (3500 rpm for the D4CC engine vs. 3100 rpm for the D4GA17 engine).
An additional option of the new model is the increased volume of the fuel tank of 150 liters (in previous versions – 100 liters). Such a tank allows you to have a power reserve of up to 1000 km at one gas station.
The service interval for the EX8 (Mighty) model with a 2.9-liter engine is 15,000 km. At the same time, the maintenance cost is lower than that of the EX8 (Mighty) car with a 3.9 liter engine.
The undeniable advantages of the new EX8 (safety, design, comfort, efficiency, cost) provide this model with a chance to occupy a worthy position in the segment of medium-duty trucks on the Ukrainian market.
